Moto arrived in London from Osaka in 1998 with no money, no English and only one suitcase. At the time, the only Japanese food Londoners knew was sushi. Gradually, she developed the ambition to introduce down-to-earth Osakan food to her new home. From a small beginning with a stall on Brick Lane, OKAN was born.
