Yasemin is a curl specialist celebrating SWANA which stands for South West Asian and North African - hair. Yasemin is also the director of - Talking Textures - an analogue photo series which is currently showcased on Lower Stable Street’s light boxes, here in Coal Drops Yard. 

Alia works at Shubbak Festival and has collaborated with Yasemin on the exhibition.

They discuss Yasemin’s hairdressing journey, how she approached casting for the photos, and the amazing feedback from the photos so far. The exhibition is on until September 7th so make sure to come & check out the incredible photos before then.
