The Making of The Moonwalkers: A Journey With Tom Hanks

This festive season, visitors to King’s Cross will get a unique insight into the making of the epic new Lightroom experience The Moonwalkers: A Journey with Tom Hanks, via a special photographic exhibition on the Lower Stable Street Lightboxes.

Tom Hanks narrates The Moonwalkers, and co-wrote the show with Christopher Riley, double BAFTA-nominated writer-director. Telling the stories of the Apollo missions in intimate detail, The Moonwalkers also covers the impending return of crewed surface missions by going behind the scenes of the Artemis programme, including interviews between Hanks and Artemis astronauts.

The Lower Stable Street exhibition will give a glimpse into the project that has brought outer space to King’s Cross, following Tom Hanks to Mission Control in Houston to meet the Artemis astronaut crew, to Abbey Road in London to hear the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra record specially-composed music, and to Lightroom to see a preview of this ambitious new show.

In the fifty thousand years of human history, just twelve of us have travelled from our Earth to walk on another celestial body. Join Tom Hanks for an immersive voyage to the Moon with The Moonwalkers at Lightroom, King’s Cross - and see how it was made on Lower Stable Street this December.
