Your role
As the Kiosk.World Market Manager, your primary focus will be to deliver inspiring and creative markets, driven by community and culture and you will lead on community engagement. As an example of the successful placemaking you will be managing, Lower Stable Street Market in King’s Cross is our most established market. You will manage the day-today operations of the market, in order to drive its growth and success. You will define and lead the delivery of all policies and processes, while ensuring compliance requirements are adhered to. You will also manage the freelance market team.
What will you be doing?
● Curate extraordinary experiences: We believe in the power of art, culture, and innovation to transform spaces. You will already have an extensive network of artisan makers and innovative food operators. You will also research and source guest curators who will bring fresh perspectives and exciting activations to the market. Your role will involve nurturing relationships with these curators, fostering collaboration and creativity.
● Forge strong relationships: You will be responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with prospective and established stallholders at Kiosk.World Markets. Your ability to connect with diverse individuals and businesses will be key in creating a vibrant and inclusive community. On rare occasions stallholders may breach market rules, you will be responsible for managing the processes we have in place to address any issues that arise.
● Support local and independent businesses: You will work closely with Kiosk.World’s network of local, independent businesses to develop their offering and expand their operations across Kiosk.World’s current and future locations.
● Deliver commercialisation targets: You will identify market commercialisation opportunities and liaise with potential partners to deliver additional offerings that enhance visitor experience and drive income objectives. You will also source and manage further on site pop up offerings such as food trucks.
● Design captivating layouts: Your creative vision will come to life as you plan, amend, and execute market layouts. Through thoughtful curation and design, you will optimise the market's appeal, ensuring a delightful experience for visitors and stallholders alike.
● Inspire a dynamic team: As the manager, you will oversee a team of freelance Market Supervisors and Market Assistants. Your leadership and management skills will be crucial in guiding and motivating them to deliver exceptional results. You will provide regular on site coaching and support to the freelance team. Together, you will create an atmosphere of professionalism and teamwork.
● Drive operational excellence: You will define and streamline operational policies and processes. You will conduct regular on site inspections to ensure these are adhered to and that all physical aspects of the site and its operations meet the standards for safety, cleanliness, appearance and quality. You will respond to questions, actively seek feedback and take appropriate action to resolve any issues and improve visitor and stallholder experience. Our markets run from Thursday to Sunday and it is important that you are comfortable with weekend work.
● Managing compliance: Working with specialist consultants as required, you will be responsible for health and safety, and compliance, preparing all required supporting documentation including RAMS, Health and Safety, and Fire Risk Assessment and providing these in a timely manner to the relevant stakeholders
● Drive financial success: You will collaborate with the accounts team to collect and process payment information accurately. By diligently addressing payment-related issues, you will contribute to the market's financial stability and success.
● Market performance analysis: Your ability to record and analyse financial and performance data will enable you to provide valuable insights on market performance. Your reports will help inform strategic decision-making and support continuous improvement.
● Managing growth: You will use your extensive market management experience to support both the expansion of existing markets and the development of new markets. You will also identify opportunities to expand on site pop up offerings.
● Exciting leasing opportunities: As part of your role, you will manage the leasing of the Heatherwick Kiosks in King's Cross. By researching and sourcing suitable occupiers, you will contribute to the creation of an exciting and diverse marketplace.
● Promote and communicate: Sharing the market's unique story and offerings is essential. You will provide relevant market information in a timely manner to support the marketing and communication efforts of Kiosk.World Markets
● Champion social and environmental impact: With your guidance, stallholders will operate in an environmentally responsible manner. You will work closely with them to ensure compliance with our sustainability initiatives and identify improvement opportunities. Upholding a-r-c-s' documented social and environmental policies and procedures will be an integral part of your role. Location & commitments
● Permanent, full-time role including some evening and weekend working
● Based in London Head Office with regular on-site presence at King’s Cross and other Kiosk.World locations as required
