Earth Day 25

Artwork by students from the University of Westminster has been selected for a new exhibition Sustainable Planet exploring and celebrating Earth Day, on view on Lower Stable Street King’s Cross 7 April through to the end of May.

22 April is Earth Day, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness of and tackling the climate crisis from every possible angle. The ten student contributors to Sustainable Planet, engage with the powerful messages behind Earth Day, using a range of art forms including photography, craft, design and poetry.

From Zijin Zing’s delicate paper sculpture crafted from waste materials to Beniamin Casian’s digital recreation of bleached and lifeless coral, these creative responses to the climate emergency are designed to inform, engage and inspire, hopefully starting conversations and sparking new ideas for the future of our planet.

The competition, organised by Pippa Catterall, Professor of History and Policy at the University of Westminster, is the third annual arts collaboration between the University of Westminster and King’s Cross, following successful exhibitions celebrating Earth Day 2023 and 2024.

Catch the free outdoor exhibition in the light boxes along Lower Stable Street from the 7th April to the end of May.
